Academic and Student Services Division

The Academic and Student Services Division is one of five Divisions which make up the University’s Central Administration.  The Division incorporates the following sections/units:

 

• Admissions, Examinations and Graduation
  This section oversees the:
  •    management of the SATAC admissions process for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework courses (GradStart);
  •    management and conduct of examinations; and
  •    organisation and administration of graduation ceremonies.

   

• Careers and Employer Liaison Centre
  This section facilitates the entry of students into employment by the provision of services to prospective students through to graduate job seekers.

   

• Flinders Housing
  This section has responsibility for all aspects of the University's student accommodation program including collegiate operations in the University Hall and the Deirdre Jordan Village.

   

• Health and Counselling Services
  This section provides a range of health (including access to General Practitioners who bulk bill), counselling and disability services to students.

   

• Higher Degree Administration and Scholarships
  This section is responsible for all aspects of the administration of postgraduate research scholarships, undergraduate scholarships and OS-HELP loans.

   

• International Office
  This section is responsible for the recruitment of fee-paying international students to the University's on-shore and off-shore award programs.

   

• International Student Services Unit
  This unit provides a first point of contact for international students wishing to access services or to seek advice and assistance.

   

• Planning Services Unit
  This unit provides a range of statistical and planning information on students, graduates and staff which satisfy the statutory reporting requirements of the Commonwealth Government and assist the University's executive and Faculties in planning and decision-making.

   

• Student Systems and Enrolment
  This section manages electronic and hardcopy student records and coordinates the enrolment and fee management of students.

   

• Student Learning Centre
  This section provides academic support and opportunities for all students to improve their learning, and to engage with the wider University community on all aspects of teaching, learning and scholarship.

   

• Transition to University Office
  This section works collaboratively with students, high schools, parents, partners, friends and University staff to enhance student transition into and through University.
