
The report of the Australian Universities Quality Agency's (AUQA) 2006 audit of Flinders University was publicly released on 6 December 2006.

The report comments positively on a number of aspects of the University's operations, including its innovative degrees, which are highly regarded by students and external stakeholders, and its commitment to equity, diversity and cultural inclusivity. Positive mention is also made of Flinders' research performance and research strategy.
The University is also commended for its multidisciplinary focus in teaching and research, its strengths in law and medicine, and its community outreach, particularly in the delivery of health initiatives in rural and remote areas.
The report identifies some areas where the University could improve its operations.
The recommendations in the report will be addressed in ongoing planning and management discussions.
