Masters and PhD:

The Department of Language Studies is very active in promoting postgraduate studies. There are currently students engaged in postgraduate studies in all four languages. They work closely with the staff member in Language Studies who is their principal supervisor and who is a recognised expert in the research field that the postgraduate student has chosen (click here for details [add link to the research table]).

Students who have successfully completed Honours in French, Italian, Modern Greek or Spanish may apply to do postgraduate studies, either at Master's level (MA by research) or at Doctor of Philosophy (PhD by thesis) level.

Prospective students may apply for a postgraduate scholarship with stipend offered either as an APA (Australian Postgraduate Award) or as a FUSA (Flinders University Scholarship Award).

In the Department of Language Studies the MA and PhD are research degrees require the submission of a thesis.

Postgraduate students in the Department of Language Studies meet together at various times during the year to present their work in progress and to attend the Department's Research activities.
