The prize shall be known as the Australasian College of Health Service Management, SA Branch, Health Management Prize.

It may be awarded annually by the Department of Health Care Management Examinations Board, on the recommendation of the Head of the Department of Health Care Management and the team of Health Care Management staff involved in supervising health care management projects and research.

The prize shall be awarded to the graduating student in the Master of Health Administration or the Master of Science (Health Administration) (ie, one prize will cover both awards) who has completed at least half of the award at Flinders University and has produced the best management project or thesis, where this is a significant component of the award.

The prize shall consist of one year's membership of ACHSM, a certificate and a payment to the value of $150. In the event of a tie, the prize will go to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) for the course, or an alternative criterion as determined by the staff of the Department of Health Care Management.

Both full-time and part-time students are eligible for the prize.

No award shall be made if the Examinations Board deems that there is no candidate of sufficient merit.

Annual approval to offer the prize will be sought from the President, Australasian College of Health Service Management (SA Branch).

The University shall mention the prize on relevant web pages and graduation documentation.

The prize is contingent upon the University maintaining the accreditation status of their programs with ACHSM as well as membership of the Society for Health Administration Programs in Education (SHAPE), with which ACHSM is closely aligned on health management education issues.
