Therapy offered at IAPT@Flinders
IAPT@Flinders multidisciplinary team offers Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to adults aged 18 and above. Low Intensity CBT refers to the strategies such as behavioural activation, exposure therapy, problem solving and goal setting. All of these are evidence-based and have shown to be successful in the treatment of anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.
CBT focuses on the 'here and now' problems you are having. CBT helps you to make the changes which can help you feel better. These changes can help you to start doing the things your problem has been stopping you from doing.
CBT is an active form of therapy. You and your therapist will agree to homework between sessions. Improvements are often very quick to notice.
