Noel Stockdale Room, Central Library
The Borrow Collection, a large and varied collection of material covering the early life of colonial South Australia, will be launched by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professsor Andrew Parkin.
Donated to the Library by Keith Borrow in 2005, the collection includes more than 2000 books and periodicals, with historical letters and photographs relating to the State’s founding families, as well as the notebooks of BT Finniss, the State’s first premier, who was Keith Borrow’s great-great grandfather.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
The 2008 Elford Lecture entitled THE ESSENTIAL AUSTRALIA VOICE presented by Ms Susan Mitchell will be held in the Matthew Flinders Theatre, Flinders University.

Experience your life at Flinders
Adult Experience day gives you the opportunity to experience life as a Flinders student for a day. Choose from a range of activities including the chance to sit in on a lecture of your choice or take part in a campus tour. Staff from the Prospective Students Office will be on hand all day to answer your questions about admissions and applying, and Student Ambassadors will also be present to talk about their experience of returning to study as an Adult.
Numerous lectures, tours and information sessions run throughout the day from 9am.

Gender Consortium, Centre for Development Studies and
Flinders International Asia-Pacific Institute [supported by AusAID’s Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) - Fellowships Program] presents Whose Security? Women's Safety and Child Protection in Local and Global Contexts.
This symposium is for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and interested individuals to share knowledge and experiences in promoting the safety of women and protection of children. It will be held in the Conference Room, Function Centre, Flinders University.

The Australian Book Review Annual Lecture is presented in conjunction with Flinders University. Entitled Journeying across 'that very vast sea': scenes from the life of Manning Clark the lecture will be presented by Emeritus Professor Brian Matthews at Flinders University.
