The School of Nursing & Midwifery welcomes students from all parts of the world and has institutional links in several countries. International students bring richness and diversity to the University and are seen as important members of the School's community.
A strong multicultural student population and increased student mobility provide our students with the opportunity to experience different cultural and social environments and clinical settings, and prepare them to work in an increasingly global community.
The increased internationalisation of nursing and midwifery education creates exciting opportunities for collaboration with health professionals and health educators around the world.
The School employs teaching and support staff from many parts of the world, including China, the United States of America, Sweden, Croatia and the United Kingdom. Our international staff bring global experience to the School and add to a refreshing cultural blend on our campus.
The School also encourages Australian students to study abroad as part of their degree at Flinders University through an exchange program with one of our partners in Sweden, Denmark and Canada. From 2010, the School will also offer short-term placement experience abroad either in a community-based healthcare setting or as a clinical placement. This opportunity will be offered with Antipodeans Abroad, an organisation that coordinates overseas study programs for Australian students. Such experience contributes to personal, professional and career development.
