About the publications data collection
Each year Flinders University collects information on publications authored by Flinders staff and students in the preceding calendar year.
The information collected during the Publications Data Collection (PDC) helps Flinders to:
understand the breadth of research activities undertaken and the fields in which this research activity occurs
put media representatives, potential postgraduate students, interested industry research collaborators, and external researchers in contact with researchers
be informed about the research-related work commitments of researchers
claim Commonwealth funding for publications authored by Flinders staff and students.
ResearchMaster, Flinders University's Research Management Information System, has been available, from 1 January 2008, to enable faculty-based continuous input of publications data over the web. This includes all data not already entered in one form or other in relation to 2007 publications. Researchers will now also be able to input data relating to all publications from 2008 as they become available.
Flinders University's return to the federal government, on 2007 publications data, will be compiled from data entered in the above manner.
The Office of Research will provide information sessions about ResearchMaster and the web interface to show researchers and relevant administrators how to input publications data. These information sessions will be organised in consultation with Faculty offices.
A series of web pages, including FAQs, are also available to provide assistance. If the available online information does not answer the researcher's query, Office of Research staff will be available by email and telephone to assist. Please contact Garry Beamish (email: garry.beamish@flinders.edu.au; tel: 8201 7938) in the first instance.
