The University's Academic Senate has resolved to offer, from 2013, two new awards in mathematics and an exciting new award in electrical engineering. However for both, pathways exist to start studying for the awards in 2012.

Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours)

The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours) will be a 4-year award structured to not only deliver a comprehensive award in mathematics with particular focus on the application of mathematics in industry, but also to satisfy the requirements for accreditation by AustMS.

The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences will be a 3-year award allowing students to study mathematics beyond that currently possible in the Bachelor of Science award. Because the award will be able to take students into second year when it starts, students who wish to commence in 2012 should apply for the Bachelor of Science and transfer internally at the end of their first year.

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)

The School's new Electrical Engineering degree will join the suite of engineering awards available through Flinders in 2013.  The award responds directly to a growing demand for electrical engineering professionals.

With a focus on Renewable Energy Systems and Electrical Drive Systems (including not only those used on marine vessels (including ships and submarines) but also on emission-free vehicles). As for the maths award above, the award will be able to take students into second year when it starts, and thus students who wish to commence in 2012 should apply for the Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) and transfer internally at the end of their first year.
