Take part in real-life projects and gain industry experience.
Industry Projects are a key component of your study at Flinders. These projects are embedded into various topics and involve you and your classmates working in teams as business consultants for local, South Australian businesses. During the semester, you'll gain in-depth experience about the business you work for: you'll conduct research and develop strategic insights and recommendations for your client, so they can take their business to the next level.
Industry Projects are offered all throughout the year in a range of second year, third year and masters topics across management, marketing, entrepreneurship, advanced leadership, and international business. There are also opportunities in other courses to take an Industry Project topic, such as in Criminology - so make sure to keep an eye out. Contact us to learn more.

What can you expect from an Industry Project?
We're passionate about learning by doing, and there's no better way to improve your knowledge of business than by contributing to one. When you include an Industry Project topic in your degree, you'll learn from a real South Australian business.
Employers like to see resumes that detail past experiences with reputable companies, and this is your chance to contribute to a company in a meaningful way. In future job interviews, you'll be able to speak about the Industry Project you completed, including the research you conducted and how you can apply those learnings to hypothetical situations.
The employment landscape can be competitive, but you'll be better equipped by creating a strong, large network of connections around you. Industry Projects are a great way to start doing this: you'll meet professionals from industries you might like to work in one day, as well as work closely with your fellow students - who may be your future colleagues.

"It made me think about the transferability of my academic learning into a space where it was implemented. After ten weeks of working on this, it was really cool to be up there to finalise that presentation and deliver it."
