In Darwin, we have two modern, well equipped campuses at Casuarina and the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Nhulunbuy

In Nhulunbuy, Flinders University works towards improving the health and wellbeing of the Indigenous community by building the remote health workforce and facilitating medical, nursing and allied health placements.

Nhulunbuy is the primary population hub in East Arnhem Land and was established over 50 years ago alongside the construction of the bauxite mine and alumina refinery.
The Yolŋu (Aboriginal people of East Arnhem Land) are the traditional owners of the region.
Nhulunbuy has a friendly community with a population of over 3,000 and offers a wide range of recreational pursuits.
For around four months of the year it may not be accessible by road.

The Katherine campus has offices and teaching and meeting facilities at O’Keefe House on the Katherine District Hospital grounds.

Our focus in Tennant Creek is to contribute to improving health outcomes of people in remote communities through the provision of high-quality remote clinical placements.

Tennant Creek is known as the Territory’s ‘Heart of Gold’ referring to the friendliness of its people and the area’s gold mining history.
It is also known for cattle stations, iconic landscapes and strong Aboriginal culture.
It is the largest town in the Barkly Region, situated 1,000 km south of Darwin and 505 km north of Alice Springs, in the vast and semi-arid Barkly Tablelands
It has a population of 3,500.

Alice Springs

Our focus in Alice Springs is to contribute to the improved health outcomes of people in remote communities through the provision of high-quality tertiary education, training and research focusing on the discipline of Remote Health.

Alice Springs lies in the heart of Australia, at least 1,500kms from the sea in any direction.
It is a thriving community of about 28,000 people.
The Arrernte people are the traditional owners of the area.
The desert weather is very hot and dry in the summer and cool from May to September.
