Flinders is committed to improving health care in rural and remote communities. There is a severe shortage of doctors in these regions. We offer rural placements and rural-located study options to increase the number of doctors serving these communities.
Applicants with a rural background can apply for the Doctor of Medicine through the South Australia Rural Medical (SARM) Program.
To be eligible, you must have lived in a rural area (defined as an Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Area category 2-5 (2011/2016)) for at least 10 years cumulatively or five years consecutively.
