What you will study

First year

In your first year you’ll get an introduction to the creative industries, how they work and their role in society.
You’ll also build your knowledge base in the fundamental skills of event planning, marketing, innovation and strategic thinking to set you up for success in your degree.

Second year

A typical second year may include:

In your second year you’ll learn all about the era of creative cities (from historic Parisian streets to modern Adelaide Laneways), you’ll build on your knowledge in tourism, events and activations, innovation and theory and practice.
You’ll also choose from a range of Indigenous topics which are taught by award-winning academics in the creative arts.

Third year

A typical third year may include:

In your third year you’ll learn about cultural leadership, sustainability in the Arts, festivals and their place in the world, and cultural policy in the Arts.
You’ll apply your skills and knowledge in the design and delivery of events, working independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary creative team to pitch, deliver and lead your own unique project while simultaneously engaging with the arts industry.

Practical, industry-focussed experience is woven throughout this degree. You’ll have the real-world experience of producing a performance event, and the opportunity to work in collaboration with artists, industry stakeholders and community organisations and engage with education, community and industry stakeholders.
