Engineering Management combines the problem-solving and technical design ability of engineering and other scientific and technology focused disciplines with executive organisational skills and the planning power of business and management. Central to this are advanced project management skills (both for large-scale complex projects and for smaller-scale projects). Together they enable graduates to manage complex engineering driven enterprises across a range of discipline areas.
Engineering managers are required across of range of industry sectors from traditional engineering operations (such as construction, manufacturing and energy), though to managing complex defence acquisition and large-scale software engineering projects. They oversee teams of engineers and work closely with other professionals to oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.

“At REDARC we look for leaders who can identify Engineers' strengths and encourage them to develop their skill sets so that they feel nurtured and encouraged to achieve their career goals. To be a globally successful business we need world class Engineering Managers."
The Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters courses provide a structured pathway containing approximately equal amounts of business/management study and design/engineering study.
First year (and the Graduate Diploma) contains study in human resource management, marketing strategy, decision making, accounting and engineering project management. It also has a focus on engineering design, design communication and systems engineering.
Second year takes this further and looks at commercial law, supply chains and operations, manufacturing design and sustainability in engineering. You can also choose electives including in managing negotiations, waste management and Industry 4.0. You will also undertake a major project which will bring together everything you have learnt over the course.
If you study the Master of Engineering Management with an accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) you will include the above elements throughout your five years of study.
