The Bachelor of Communication and Professional Writing requires three years of full-time study, or the equivalent part-time. The course is offered by the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law.

Course aims
This course aims to provide students with:
- the knowledge and skills to be able to research, write, design and produce communication content for a range of media platforms;
- communication skills and the ability to present information in a variety of disciplines and collaborative situations;
- research, analytical and problem solving skills;
- the ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
- the skills and knowledge to connect across geographical, disciplinary, social and cultural boundaries;
- an understanding of the value of ethical behaviour.
Learning outcomes
Upon graduating, students will:
- have developed knowledge and skills to research, write, design and publish in different media;
- be able to initiate, plan, design and deliver effective communication in a range of different media;
- be able to evaluate critically the role of communication and media in contemporary society, analyse the social effects and consequences; and use these to inform their own work;
- have developed a knowledge of communication and communication practices, and the skills and ability to apply critical, analytical, research and problem solving skills; and
- have developed knowledge of international and intercultural contexts within communication.
