I am a post-doctoral research fellow in the Social Influence and Social Change Lab. My research considers how emotions and well-being impact how people engage in actions to promote progressive social change. In particular, I am interested in how feeling despair about issues like climate change and racial inequality (political despair) may diminish personal well-being and reduce people's continued engagement in actions to bring about social change. I also focus on how we can promote progressive social change whilst protecting people’s mental health. My research prioritises practical implications, aiming to produce outcomes that influence policy, industry, government, and non-governmental organisations.
