Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Postgraduate Programs

It's a pleasure to welcome you to the postgraduate programs in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) at Flinders University, incorporating the degrees of Master of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MCBT), Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (GDPCBT) and Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (GCCBT).

The Master’s program consists of three major components: coursework, research and practicum placements. The aim of these programs is to provide graduates with the tertiary-level education required to deliver effective, safe and accountable focussed psychological interventions for high prevalence mental health disorders within a stepped-care model of service.

The training and supervision of interdisciplinary health professionals in CBT offers a diverse range of opportunities to support and work with people who are experiencing high prevalence psychological disorders, as well as contribute to innovative and accessible models of care. There is increasing recognition that the future workforce in mental health and related fields needs to be innovative, collaborative and value interdisciplinary care to ensure responsive and adaptable service provisions to those who need it.

In the School of Medicine at Flinders University, we take these responsibilities seriously, and seek to offer a comprehensive integrated clinical training program focussing on core competencies required to deliver and apply evidence-based psychological therapies. Throughout the postgraduate program, the Psychiatry team will work with you across the course of your studies to help you develop effective clinical skills, sound theoretical knowledge and the professional values and standards that provide a solid foundation for a scientific perspective now and in the future.
