Flinders Online courses have been designed specifically for asynchronous learning, while other online courses offered by Flinders have compulsory synchronous sessions, and the university drives the pace of learning. Flinders Online course content has been created in bite-sized, interactive sections so you can study at your own pace. Classes, lectures, and tutorials have been replaced with videos, media and text to enhance your online learning experience and cater to different learning styles.

Content is delivered through our purpose-built Learning Management System - FLO (Flinders Learning Online), and includes short instructional videos, discussion forums, assignments, and interactive activities. Various formats (video, text, interactive activities) are used to allow flexibility and cater to different learning requirements.

A reliable internet connection and a computer or device capable of accessing FLO (Flinders Learning Online) and completing the assessments is essential. FLO is delivered via Canvas and can be accessed through the Canvas Student App or directly using any web browser. Your computer should have the following capabilities:

• Run a modern browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Microsoft Edge), 
• Run programs to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations, 
• A web camera and headset, or earphones/ headphones with microphone (essential for online and partial on campus topics), 
• Ability to back up (either using OneDrive or to an external drive).

No, your graduation certificate (Transcript/Parchment) will not indicate whether you studied and completed online or in person.
