BetterU is your go-to resource for wellbeing at Flinders University. We connect students with programs, services, articles and tools to support their physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing. From counselling and disability support to wellbeing workshops and self-help resources, we aim to empower the Flinders community to thrive.
Better U was created to bring all the amazing wellbeing initiatives at Flinders University into one easy-to-find place. It grew out of the work of the Wellbeing Working Group (WWG), a team dedicated to supporting and driving wellbeing-focused projects across the university.
The journey started with Flinders’ Whole-of-University Wellbeing Strategic Plan (2022-2025), which set out a vision for a more connected, proactive approach to wellbeing. To put this into action, the WWG developed an Implementation Plan to make sure ideas turned into real, impactful initiatives. Along the way, the Student Wellbeing Survey and Wellbeing Mapping Report helped identify what was already happening and what was missing. A big takeaway? There were plenty of great wellbeing initiatives, but they weren’t always easy to find or well-coordinated. That’s where Better U comes in.
This website is all about showcasing the wide range of wellbeing activities happening across Flinders and making it easier for students and staff to get involved. Whether it’s a mental health program, a social connection initiative, or a new wellbeing event, Better U helps bring it all together in one spot. It also gives the Flinders community a chance to contribute, sharing their own wellbeing initiatives and ideas.
Ultimately, Better U is about making wellbeing a visible, accessible, and integral part of university life. It’s a reflection of Flinders’ ongoing commitment to supporting the health, happiness, and success of its community.
