Choose a career you’re passionate about. A career in the creative industries is rewarding and fulfilling, with endless opportunities to specialise in your area of interest or become a well-rounded professional in a multidisciplinary team. Creative arts is a growing sector, meaning the chances of you and your peers finding a job in your chosen area are strong.
There are many career directions to explore in the creative arts, industries and media, with advances in technology, new online platforms and digital landscapes creating new employment opportunities.
There is also a growing desire by the general public to embrace the creative arts in all forms, and for different reasons… from pure entertainment to communicating important cultural messages, shedding light on our history, educating audiences and inspiring people to change the world.
Our graduates work across the globe, making films, writing books, performing on stage, designing for well-known companies or making their mark in a variety of roles. Flinders graduates can regularly be seen performing with the State Theatre Company of SA or on the silver screen. These opportunities arise from the invaluable industry connections our students make during their time at Flinders.
When creative arts, industries and media students first start studying at Flinders, one of the things they quickly discover is how many passionate, driven and creative people are in the one place – both students and staff alike. Everyone is here because they have the desire to be part of this creative world, and for many students this is first time they find their people.
If you want an exciting creative career, where two days are never the same (instead of a regular 9-5 office job), then this is the industry for you. Check out our course offerings to find the one that suits you.
You'll have the opportunity to study at the Bedford Park campus, home to South Australia’s largest motion capture and virtual reality lab: The Void, the 425 seat Matthew Flinders Theatre, and our professional level editing and production suites. You could also study in the Adelaide CBD at Flinders City Campus, or at one of our partner institutions: CDW Studios or Adelaide College of the Arts.
You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in our Work Integrated Learning Program (WIL), where you can undertake a placement or internship, in partnership with an organisation that meets your career goals.
