Alan Tucker
Author

Alan Tucker is a writer and illustrator of Australian historical fiction. In 2003 he won the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year non-fiction award for Iron in the Blood. He has also produced The Bombing of Darwin, Cyclone Tracy, Atomic Testing in SA, Gallipoli and Kokoda. Alan’s latest young adult novel, Rebellion at Eureka, examines the conflict between miners and authorities on the Ballarat goldfields in 1854. The former secondary school teacher is also an accomplished painter whose work is included in the Art Gallery of South Australia and Flinders University Museum of Art collections. In 2020 Alan received a Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Award.
Emma Maguire

Emma Maguire writes short fiction, essays and criticism. She is a lecturer in English and Writing at James Cook University. Emma has also worked at Monash University and Flinders University, where she has won awards for her teaching and research. She is a co-founder of The Hearth Collective, a group of creatives who host regular events in Adelaide to support emerging writers and artists.
Greg Mackie OAM
Cultural Leader & City Councillor

Greg Mackie OAM is a respected cultural advocate, business operator and public sector leader. He co-owned the iconic west-end indie literary bookshop, Imprints Booksellers from 1984 to 2007, co-established Art Zone Gallery (1986-2000) and co-founded the Adelaide West End Association. He led Adelaide Writers’ Week during the 1990s, before founding the iconic Adelaide Festival of Ideas in 1999. Greg was Executive Director of Arts SA from 2004 to 2008, and Deputy Chief Executive in Premier and Cabinet from 2008 to 2011. Since 2016 he has been the CEO of The History Trust of South Australia. In 2006 Greg received a Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Award. In May 2020 he was elected as a Councillor to the City of Adelaide.
Ilene Lorenz

Ilene Lorenz is currently a teacher with a Masters in Education. She is a skilled speech and policy submission writer, advocate, analyst and lobbyist who has supported large corporations in their government relations requirements.
James Currie

With more than 140 feature films in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, James Currie is one of the most significant and highly respected figures in the Australian feature film industry. In 2015, the Australian Screen Sound Guild awarded James the Syd Butterworth Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2017 he received a Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Award. During 2021 Griffith University awarded James with an Honorary PhD for his contribution to Australian Film Sound
Jenna Hann

Jenna Hann is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, assessor, adjudicator, performer, entertainer, educator, supervisor, mentor and more. She owns her own dance studio in Murray Bridge.
Kay Pavlou
Film/TV Director, Writer & Producer

Kay Pavlou is a multi-award-winning director and writer of drama and documentaries for television and cinema. In documentary, she has directed several episodes of Who Do You Think You Are? (SBS) and Fightback Farmers (ABC). In drama, Kay has directed All Saints, McLeod’s Daughters and Love Is A Four Letter Word. Kay has also written short film The Killing Of Angelo Tsakos and feature film Mary.
Kim Dalton OAM

Kim Dalton OAM has over 40 years’ experience as a senior executive in the screen industry across production, distribution and broadcasting.
He is the Company Director and Consultant for Annamax Media and the Chair of the Screenwrights board.
Previous roles include CEO of the Australian Film Commission, Director of ABC Television, Chair of Freeview Australia and Chair of the Asian Animation Summit. In 2003 he received an Order of Australia medal for service to the Australian film and television industry.
Nick Remy-Matthews

Film director, writer and cinematographer Nick Remy has been making films since he was twelve years old. After graduating from Flinders, Nick moved to Europe to create his own path into the industry. His first job was on Steven Spielberg’s mini-series Band of Brothers. More recently Nick filmed the award-winning movie Hotel Mumbai. In 2020 he was named Cinematographer of the Year by the Australian Cinematographer's Society.

Sarah Hampel is a Leadership Coach and Mentor, and founder of Authentic Results Coaching. She has led HR teams in internationally recognised companies such as Cadbury Schweppes, Pepsi, BP, and Lion. Through her business she coaches and mentors new & emerging leaders to increase their influence, boost their confidence, enhance their performance, and intensify their impact so they can be seen, heard and trusted as authentic leaders.
Veronica Buhagiar

Veronica Buhagiar is a film editor who has worked on feature films, documentaries, short films and commercials. She has worked for Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros and Twentieth Century Studios. In 2015 she won the South Australian Screen Award for Best Editing for her work on The Little Girl. Veronica’s film work has been featured in film festivals around the world, including the National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle, Sydney Underground Film Festival and San Jose Media Festival. Veronica is the President of the Australian Screen Editors in South Australia. In 2020 she received a Flinders University Early Career Distinguished Alumni Award.
Vuyo Loko

Vuyo Loko is an actor and social worker. His television appearances include Winners and Losers and Kinne. He has had roles in short films including Seven Stories Down, Shakespeare Republic and Devil Wears a Suit. His theatre appearances include Big Heart and The Exonerated. Vuyo has also appeared in the feature film Escape from Pretoria. He has been a multicultural arts ambassador for The Melbourne Theatre Company and has worked with Sydney’s Bell Shakespeare theatre company to empower at-risk youth. Vuyo is also working on a compilation of his own spoken word poetry, The Buffalo Psalms.
