Jessica McKenzie

Jessica McKenzie is the recipient of the Michael Kidd Scholarship. Currently she is in her second year of a Bachelor of Midwifery at Flinders University.

“I always had a great fascination with pregnancy. To be able to help a woman in such a crucial time of her life is a blessing. I want to make a difference and help others in my community. It is supposed to such a great experience and it is good for someone to be there when they don’t feel great. “

Being granted a scholarship has given Jessica the opportunity to study at Flinders, an option she might not have had.

“To not have a financial burden whilst being a student makes life a lot easier. I’m able to come home more often; I can purchase textbooks and do the travel needed for my course.”
