Occupational Therapy (OT) is a very rewarding career to me.
We help people across the lifespan to engage in meaningful occupations and improve their quality of life, despite any physical or mental challenges.
I personally received OT services before and it changed my life, so I want to do the same to help other people.
My ultimate goal is to go back to my home country and help build the OT teaching curriculum because currently we don't have OT's in Vietnam and I think it'll be very beneficial for the community if we do.
The support I have received from Flinders is amazing.
The teaching staff go above and beyond to help us overcome challenges faced by international students, such as language and culture barriers. The International Student Services team is very supportive and proactive when advocating for international students.
I also love the events that International Student Services organise throughout the year to help students connect with other peers.
Flinders also provide some free counselling services for students and I found these particularly useful especially during stressful times such as exam periods. Moreover, Flinders provides a multicultural and inclusive community so that international students feel comfortable studying here.
What I like most about Adelaide is its friendly people and top-notch education. This motivates me to work hard in my studies but at the same time helps me feel comfortable knowing that other people are willing to help me if I need. I also love the breath-taking scenery, especially the beaches in Adelaide.
Being a Flinders Student Ambassador has been one of my greatest highlights in the past year.
This role gave me the opportunity to significantly grow my skillsets, especially communication and teamwork skills. I also had a chance to connect with and help many students which is so rewarding.
I've also had the chance to meet and form lifelong friendships with fellow ambassadors, who make working so much more enjoyable but at the same time, continually inspire me to work harder and smarter.
The staff in the office are all very supportive and willing to answer our questions whenever I need - so I never feel alone! Most importantly, I feel that my work as an ambassador is greatly appreciated by everyone and that I'm truly making an impact. This is what I value most in my workplace and it motivates me to keep trying to contribute more to Flinders.

My favourite study spot is at Sturt library.
I like that there are rooms available to be booked in the library if we need a quiet space to stay focussed or if we need to discuss with friends so that we don't disturb others.
The library also has a lot of computers for students to use and I find this helpful as I don't always carry my laptop around with me.
I love cooking, this helps me destress after a long day of work and study.
I also enjoy wandering around the beautiful parks and beaches in Adelaide and catching up with friends on the weekend.
