Meet our Student Ambassadors

Hello my name is Yunus and I'm studying a Masters of Biotechnology.

Since childhood, I've been attracted towards research and I always wanted to work in a big laboratory which can find a cure for various diseases.

As I was attracted towards labs, studying micro organisms, and observing the living things at microscopic level, this was the best degree for me as it provides me with everything I desire.

I hope after completing my studies, I will be able to acquire great and valuable knowledge, and I will start my own Research centre.

Why study at Flinders and in Adelaide?

I will never regret my decision for choosing Flinders for my Master's degree.

I enjoy spending time on campus, and every day I love the atmosphere because it is so peaceful and soothing.

Throughout my education, I experienced numerous ups and downs, but I am constantly encouraged by mentors, which I could never have imagined.

Adelaide is quite beautiful in terms of nature, it is very tranquil, and it is recognised as one of the most liveable cities in the world. Living here is easy and you can appreciate every moment of your life.

What is the best thing about being a Flinders Ambassador?

I could write an entire book on the best aspects about being a Flinders student ambassador!

Over this period, I have learnt so much. I have met fantastic people who are successful in their lives, and I have the opportunity to speak with other students, which has extended my perspective.

It is fascinating to meet individuals of different nationalities and cultures and it has also provided me a sense of accomplishment to assist other pupils.

My communication skills have improved, and I have established several relationships both inside and outside of Flinders, which will help me in the future.

My favourite study spot on campus

My favourite place to study at Flinders is either the library or besides the lake.

This area is really serene and quiet, which allows me to focus more on my studies. And I'm even able to complete my tasks ahead of schedule when studying in these locations.

The ambience is quite relaxing, and there is plenty of greenery everywhere, which I particularly enjoy!

What I like to do in my spare time

I usually spend my free time participating in outdoor activities such as cricket or soccer.

I enjoy listening to music while working, therefore I always have my headphones on.

I enjoy exploring Adelaide's top places to visit because I travel frequently. On weekends, I seldom study; instead, I spend time with my friends, go out in the city, do some shopping, and soak in the Adelaide vibes!
