Based in the Fleurieu Peninsula on the traditional lands of the Ramindjeri people, Honor Freeman’s practice involves crafting objects in porcelain that belie their materiality and purpose. Her work has been curated into exhibitions at institutions throughout Australia, including the Museum of Contemporary Art and Powerhouse Museum. She has undertaken international residencies at Guldagergaard, Denmark, and in the United States at Indiana University.
Exhibiting since 2000, her works have featured in national and international publications and are held in numerous public collections including: National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of South Australia, ArtBank and Washington DC’s National Musuem of Women in the Arts. In 2018 she was the recipient of the Guildhouse Collections Project, resulting in the solo exhibition Ghost Objects at the Art Gallery of South Australia in 2019. In 2022, she received an Arts South Australia Fellowship. Honor Freeman is represented in Australia by Sabbia Gallery, Sydney.
