Join us on Thursday 10 November 2022 for the next instalment of FAF with Djon Mundine OAM and Dr Elizabeth Coleman for 'Reflections on Indigenous Art'.
The Flinders Aesthetics Forum in collaboration with Flinders University Museum of Art (FUMA) and Assemblage invites you to join a special seminar on Indigenous art. Bundjalung curator, writer, artist, and activist Djon Mundine OAM will speak on his decades-long career of exhibition making, and promotion of Indigenous art practices in Australia and overseas. Following this, Dr Elizabeth Coleman of Monash University, will discuss how Indigenous art practices in the Australian context have evolved to meet Western institutional and market demands, and curatorial practices have evolved to operate within Indigenous protocols and to meet Indigenous interests.
Drinks and nibbles on arrival. This event will conclude with an opportunity to view FUMA’s current exhibition There we were all in in one place featuring photographic works by Gunditjmara artist Hayley Millar Baker.
Parking on university campus is free after 5pm.
