College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Aarti Gulyani is a Senior Biostatistician leading the Biostatistics Unit at the Caring Futures Institute and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS), Flinders University. With over 15 years of experience as an applied biostatistician, she has worked with South Australian universities, national data registries, and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Drawing on her strong background in statistics and extensive experience in health data analysis, Aarti provides high-level statistical consultancy to CNHS researchers, supporting them in navigating complex data analyses. She established the Stats Centre to offer tailored data analysis services to researchers who lack the capacity or expertise to conduct their own statistical work. Beyond consultancy, Aarti is deeply committed to mentoring and advancing the statistical knowledge. She conducts statistical workshops, provides advice on grant applications, assists with Statistical Analysis Plans and power calculations.
She is also pursuing her PhD, with research centred on estimating the relative survival and predicting the prevalence of individuals with multiple and metastatic cancer using population-based data. Her interest lies in advance data programming (STATA) skills, and statistical modelling techniques, including flexible parametric survival models, relative survival models, mixture cure methods, and machine learning. Aarti is passionate about fostering collaboration, sharing her expertise, producing impactful publications, and advancing research excellence across university disciplines.
