Dr Wubishet is a Research Fellow in Health Economics with over 15 years of experience in health outcomes and health services research both in Australia and internationally. Working within the Health and Social Care Economics Group at the Caring Futures Institute, he contributes to advancing mental health economics for older adults. Dr Wubishet’s academic journey and career have been shaped by multidisciplinary expertise in pharmacoepidemiology, health economics, and ageing, coupled with personal experiences of the profound impact of Australia’s health and social care system. Dr Wubishet’s research work is driven by a commitment to improving the lives of individuals and communities through innovative research.

Having overcome a life-changing health challenge, Dr Wubishet is driven to generate evidence-based solutions to improve health and social care. Dr Wubishet’s research focuses on economic evaluations and linked health data analysis, utilising advanced statistical and econometric methods. His research aim to influence policies that enhance healthcare delivery and resource allocation across mental health, brain injury, child health, and aged care.
