Claire Whitley is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Arts in the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Screen and Media, where her interests include Hollywood film comedy, media aligned with popular feminism, "unruly" femininity, and industrial responses to socio-cultural trends. Her post-doctorate work has focused largely on fan practices in new media spaces and filmic backlash to heightened discourses of intersectional feminism in popular culture. Her scholarship of learning and teaching interests include assessment practices, transition pedagogy, and feedback literacy. She previously worked in the Student Learning Support Service where she was responsible for coordinating and facilitating programs like English for Academic Purposes.
