Dr Darling Rojas-Canales

Dr. Rojas-Canales is a Hospital Scientist for the Renal Unit at Flinders Medical Centre and has Full Academic Status at Flinders University. She manages the Flinders Renal Laboratory, which is a collaborative Flinders University and Southern Adelaide Local Health Network laboratory giving her access and established links to the hospital. She has a background in islet transplantation and transplant immunology having completed her PhD at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and then her post-doctoral studies in this area at the University of Pittsburgh. Her recent research focuses on kidney related pathologies, in particular working to understand the pathways that promote renal growth in Diabetic kidney Disease. Other related areas of interest include immunology of the kidney, Type 1 Diabetes, and kidney cancer.
