Demi Martin is a VPED award-winning educator and Senior Developmental Educator with a strong passion for student-centred learning. Since joining Flinders University in 2019, she has taught across a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate topics in disability, and is known for her engaging, passionate and innovative teaching style.
Demi actively supports students through practicum supervision and capstone project mentoring, helping students to connect theory with practice. With over ten years of experience in the disability sector, she began her career working with individuals with disabilities in community and home based settings. Her career has focused on developing person-centred, holistic skill development programs in collaboration with families and supports.
Demi’s teaching and research interests include disability across the life course, the role of Developmental Educators, and skill-building initiatives. She continues to work in the field as a Senior Developmental Educator, maintaining strong links between academic and professional practice.
