Erin Skinner

Lecturer in Environmental Impact and Wellbeing

College of Education, Psychology and Social Work

I am a research and teaching academic with a passion for human dimensions of environmental conservation! 🐞🌏🧠

My PhD focused on sustainable fashion behaviour, explored through the lens of Conservation Psychology. As a lecturer in Environmental Impact and Wellbeing, I strive to inspire my students to understand and appreciate the reciprocal relationship between humans and nature. In particular, how human behaviour drives environmental degradation which in turn hinders human wellbeing, particularly for society's most vulnerable. Meanwhile, nature also offers valuable tools to improve mental flourishing! I have a broad research interest in sustainable lifestyles, with an emphasis on the importance of connecting with nature for improved wellbeing. I am dedicated to fostering a deeper awareness of how individual choices can contribute to a more sustainable future for all. Outside of academia, I actively engage in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and advocate for eco-friendly practices that enhance both personal and planetary health.
