Dr Buckley has a research background in cancer epidemiology, population health, health services, health technology assessment and medical laboratory science.
She has a strong expertise and interest in using linked health data from clinical and population cancer registries, medical and pharmaceutical claims, radiotherapy, cancer screening and hospital admissions data sources. Dr Buckley has also used linked health data to understand the health economic disparities experienced by socio-demographically disadvantaged groups in cancer treatment, survival and survivorship.
Dr Buckley’s research has informed Cancer Australia position statements including biopsy practices in the National Breast Cancer Screening program, and appropriate management of lobular carcinoma in-situ.
