Mr Sebastian Raneskold is the Vice-President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Flinders University. Leading the University’s international strategy since 2016, Mr Raneskold has oversight of Flinders International, driving strong outcomes and rich student experiences across international recruitment and admissions, international partnerships in education and research, transnational education, student mobility, sponsored student programs and international student services.
With extensive and diverse industry experience and a strong track record in leadership, strategic business development, marketing and sales, international relations and key stakeholder collaboration, Sebastian previously held leadership positions as Executive Director, International Centre at Flinders University, various Director of Marketing roles with the Navitas group, Regional Manager at the University of South Australia, Country Director at IDP Education Australia (Scandinavia) and Coordinator International Programs at Örebro University, Sweden.
Sebastian is a graduate of Social Anthropology and Political Science from Lund University, Sweden, and holds a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology from Stockholm University, Sweden, and an Advanced Diploma in Spanish from Universidad de País Vasco, Spain.
Sebastian is the chair of the board of Flinders University Academy, a long standing member of the Study Adelaide board and a member of University Australia’s DVCI group and the International Committee of the Innovative Research Universities. He is a member of the University’s Senior Executive Team, and sits on numerous other University committees, including Academic Senate and is a member of several professional bodies including the IEAA and EAIE. Sebastian has also served as a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for International Education in South Australia, and the Adelaide Lord Mayor’s Cultural Think Tank.
Sebastian is the Honorary Consul of Sweden, supporting Swedish interests and providing consular support to the Swedish community of South Australia.
