Ying is an applied economist and a research member of the Water, Environment and Food economics policy group (WEF group) in the College of Business, Governance and Law at Flinders University. Her research experience include theoretical and empirical studies in natural resource economics and management (e.g. water, forest and land use), effect of climate change on agriculture production and natural resource use, and environmental and health studies. Her broad backgrounds enable her to study and address the complicated issues such as land use confliction, health problem, trade off of economic return and ecosystem services arising from natural resource limitation, environment pollution and climate change.

Ying’s current interests mainly are:

  •    Natural resource economics and management
  •    Climate change in agriculture production and natural resources use
  •    Agriculture development and natural resources protection in developing countries
  •    Health economics
