Flinders University Research Scholarships are awarded to postgraduate students on the basis of academic merit and research potential. The scholarships enable suitably qualified applicants to proceed to a full-time Masters degree by research or Doctorate by research.
Flinders University Research Scholarships are tenable at Flinders University for up to three years for a Doctorate by research, or up to two years for a Masters degree, subject to satisfactory progress. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the maximum period of tenure
The scholarship pays an indexed stipend of $33,990 p.a. tax free (2024 rate). Recipients who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or hold Australian Permanent Residency status will be provided a RTP fee Offset which covers tuition fees charged by the university for up to four years. A limited number of fee waiver scholarships may be available for International students. International students who are not in receipt of a fee waiver scholarship will be required to pay the normal tuition fees.

Selection of award holders will be undertaken by the Scholarships Committee based on academic merit and research potential.

The University will give priority to students undertaking a higher degree by research for the first time.

The Scholarship is called Higher Degree Research Scholarship Main Round - Grouping Reward in both portals.
One application will apply for both the AGRTPS, the FURS and any other scholarship opportunities that may be available during the round.
