Flinders University Indigenous Scholarship

This scholarship has been established to assist Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in financial need to pursue or continue their studies at Flinders University. The scholarship is open to both commencing and continuing students in either undergraduate or postgraduate studies, in any discipline. 

The scholarship will assist the study and/or living costs for two students per year, enabling them to continue their studies at Flinders University. The value of each scholarship is $4,000. Payment will be in two equal instalments of $2,000 after the census date of each semester.

Applicants for the Scholarship must:

• be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; and

• identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and

• be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which they live or have lived; and

• be normally enrolled full-time at Flinders University in any degree program*; and

• be able to demonstrate barriers to successful completion of their education.

Previous recipients are eligible to apply.

*Applications will be accepted from part-time students who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, medical reasons, carer responsibilities). Part-time recipients will be paid pro-rata.
