RA Simpson International Scholarship

A generous endowment from the family of the late  Mr Robert Allen Simpson, a founding member of the Flinders University Council and honorary degree recipient, has enabled the establishment of the RA Simpson International Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students to undertake part of their course of study overseas.  The aim, to enhance their Flinders University studies by providing an international perspective. 

Please note the below closing dates of offerings for each semester:

• Travel in Semester 1: open until 31 May (Application needs to be lodged before 31 May 2024)
• Travel in Semester 2: open from 1 March 24 to 30 Nov 24

Subject to the availability of funding, one or more scholarships valued at either $1,000 (for semester) or $500 (for short term) will be awarded in each semester. The number of scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the RA Simpson Memorial Fund Management Committee.

Applicants must:

1. be students enrolled in an undergraduate or coursework postgraduate course of Flinders University; and
2. have successfully completed:
   • at least 36 units of the undergraduate degree, for which the scholarship is being sought; or
   • a relevant undergraduate degree of Flinders University, if seeking the scholarship for a program of study to be undertaken during an Honours year; or
   • at least 18 units of the coursework postgraduate course, for which the scholarship is being sought; and
3. be enrolled in full-time study while undertaking study overseas; and
4. be accepted into the Flinders University Exchange program or an approved short term mobility program; and
5. have their overseas study count as credit towards their course of study at Flinders University; and
6. have not previously received a RA Simpson International Scholarship.
