Flinders University recognised the milestone of 25 years of the Up the Hill Project, a trailblazing inclusive University program supporting people with intellectual disability, at the Alere Function Centre on Thursday 5 September 2024.
MC’d by Up the Hill Graduates Tim Cahalan and Ruby Nankivell, attendees and honoured guests including The Hon Louise Miller-Frost MP, Member for Boothby, and Professor Alison Kitson, Vice-President and Executive Dean, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, were welcomed to the event by Professor Romy Lawson, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students and heard from The Hon Amanda Rishworth, Minister for Social Services and Dr Fiona Rillotta, Academic Advisor, Up the Hill Project. Ruby and her Up the Hill Learning Partner Emily Craft also each shared their experiences and perspectives of being a part of the program.
Following the presentations, guests celebrated and reconnected with fellow graduates and industry professionals over canapes and drinks service and had the opportunity to view works completed by Up the Hill participants as part of their studies.
