What does a good quality of life look like for older Australians? How do older people rate their experience of aged care? Caring Futures Institute researchers have been talking with older Australians using aged care services about what makes for a good quality of life and how they perceive their care experience.
Quality of care and quality of life in aged care had been in the spotlight during the recent Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. In their Final Report, the Commissioners have recommended the routine collection of both types of data in order to monitor quality outcomes across the sector.
We've developed two new validated quality assessment tools, the Quality of Life-Aged Care Consumers (QOL-ACC) and the Quality of Care Experience – Aged Care Consumers (QCE-ACC) and these are now available for use sector-wide.
