Hello my name is Alen from India, and I’m studying Masters of Engineering Management.

My philosophy is quite clear; I need to understand and be responsive to the needs of the people, and that is why I am all for empathy and compassion. To me, integrity is, indeed, a very important quality to have, and I always choose to do what is right, even if there is no one else is looking.

My goals make me motivated and to look forward to the opportunities. I consider myself blessed to have this opportunity which makes me responsible for working the best I can to make it fruitful for others. The Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship isn't just about breaking financial shackles; it's about empowering me to immerse myself wholly in my studies and future career prospects.

What appeals about studying in Adelaide?

As an individual, I am someone who seeks to explore the lifestyle, culture, and geography of other countries. Adelaide, where Flinders University is located, is a welcoming city in South Australia known for its rich history, entertainment, and multicultural atmosphere.

It offers a comfortable and vibrant environment for students, with a relatively lower cost of living compared to some other Australian cities. And now, Adelaide is titled as one of the best city in the world, which makes it even more special to me.

What are your career aspirations?

In the field of business management, my dream job would be to merge my passion for technology innovation and my curiosity in business management. I aim to join the engineering management and technology realms recognised by introducing new ways to save energy or integrate cutting-edge technology by applying for positions in my career path that are related to the two and where my ability to create and implement innovative solutions would be fostered.

Moreover, I am planning to get involved in entrepreneurial endeavours; it may be that I will start my own company, or I will join a start-up where the environment is fast-paced, and I can bring up new ideas. I would like to always be learning, evolving, and part of projects that aim to stretch the boundaries of technology and management, ultimately, I would like to be a part of projects that define the future of the company and maximize technology.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

If I had to choose one superpower that I could have, it would be the power of feeling what other people feel and backing them up through the hard times. I have always been very happy to help the people who need it, so having the ability to help the most would be amazing.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

It was one of my all-time dreams to become a rational mind, an individual who well and truly comprehends the universe. Intellectual curiosity pushes me to move to the next level of my career as a mechanical engineering graduate, but I am not eager to reach the destination of my goal earlier.

What I want is to research different cases first, which are beneficial for my self-improvement. I do believe that improving one's personality is crucial as opposed to focusing solely on the metrological situation of the planet.
