My primary motivation in life revolves around two core principles: a deep desire to help people and an insatiable curiosity to explore the world. These driving forces have guided my personal and academic pursuits.
The Flinders VC Scholarship has played a pivotal role in helping me achieve these life goals. By providing me with financial support for my education, it’s given me the opportunity to achieve my dream of studying abroad where I feel I can receive the best education to achieve my results.
The scholarship has been a great motivator for me and has inspired me to uphold my high standard of academia and channel my energies into achieving my goals effectively. It has been a transformative opportunity that has enabled me to take tangible steps toward making a difference in the lives of others while fulfilling my passion for global exploration.
I chose to study in Australia firstly because I’d always heard from my teachers and family about Australia’s excellent education resources and world-renowned institutions. One example of this was when I first attended high school in Australia, I was excited at having such a vast array of subjects to choose from compared to the education system of my home country. I truly felt that by receiving a high-quality education that could provide a strong foundation for my future endeavors.
I was also aware of Australia’s stunning natural environment from my few visits here and have come to value the country's breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife. These offer a remarkable backdrop to my studies, making the overall learning experience more enjoyable and enriching. Australia’s peaceful social environment, particularly in Adelaide, is also a refreshing change from the fast-paced environment I grew up in.
My career goals played a pivotal role in my decision. I aspire to become a speech pathologist, a field not as developed in my home country. Australia offers comprehensive and well-established programs in this area, making it the ideal place for me to continue my education and pursue my passion for helping others.
The food! As a passionate foodie, I have a deep love for the cuisine in my culture. I believe that food holds a special significance in bringing people closer together and bridging cultural gaps.
I also enjoy sharing our literature. In my culture, there are many beautiful poems that I've cherished since childhood. Here, I'd like to share a quote from a poem by my favourite poet: “人生如逆旅,我亦是行人。” (Life is a journey, and I too am on my way.)
My primary career aspiration is to make a meaningful impact on people's lives as a qualified speech pathologist. After I graduate and enter the field, my foremost goal is to provide the best possible care and support to individuals in need. I believe in the power of communication and its profound effect on human lives, and I want to leverage my skills to enhance the quality of life for those I work with.
In addition to clinical practice, I aspire to continue my education and go into research where I can contribute to many of the unsolved mysteries of my practice. I have a strong desire to contribute to the broader understanding of the connection between language and the human brain through research and how that may help improve therapeutic practices.
I also aim to learn more about how speech pathology can play a vital role in enhancing the lives of elderly individuals, particularly those dealing with conditions like dementia. I have known a number of people in my life with these conditions and so it’s become of special significance to me to use what I’m learning in my degree to help them.
I enjoy exploring new places and trying new restaurants and cafes. I also enjoy volunteering, which allows me to give back to the community and make connections with new people.

Invisibility. When I was little, I read a story of a boy wearing a raincoat that made him invisible which really fascinated me.
