What motivates me the most in my life is my family and the future I envision for myself. My family have sacrificed and achieved a lot in life to bring me to where I am, and I am determined to make sure their efforts are returned with my hard work. I hope to give them the life that they deserve and ensure that my aspirations are fulfilled as well.
My goal for the future is to be truly happy and fulfilled in what I do by giving back to the community that nurtures and cares for me. The Flinders VC Scholarship helps me attain this by supporting my determination and education in Paramedicine which leads to a rewarding career that can allow me to help my community through my knowledge and skills.
My current career aspirations are to work towards finishing my degree and attaining my Paramedic license. However, I hope to further my career by advancing into a master’s degree or exploring other options within healthcare. Luckily, Flinders has many intertwining degrees that I can explore.
I chose to study in Australia because I loved the balanced-out curriculum in comparison to all the other countries I have studied in before. I also thought there was a more diverse range of career options and education pathways available here in Australia. Australia is also renowned for its quality of education, which I got a taste of during high school, and I am grateful to be able to experience it through university as well.
Further, I love the open communication streams between teachers, students, and the overall education body that make you feel extremely supported throughout your education journey. Having moved countries around a lot, I also love the multicultural community, as it gives you the opportunity to communicate with and experience all sorts of cultures and personalities.
What I have loved the most about my degree at the moment is how practical it is! I was not anticipating for us to be right in the mix of things so quickly with placement, shifts with SA Ambulance Service were extremely insightful to be able to get this first-hand experience so early into my degree.
I like to dance, play piano and hang out with friends. I also love challenging myself with a good game of sodoku!
My favourite film is hands down The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Everything about the Peter Jackson trilogy is enthralling, and the second one was my absolute favourite.
"We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are" - Max De Pree.
If I had a superhero power, it would be time travel. This is so that I can keep traveling back in time to experience different countries and cultures, learn new languages, and learn new skills like different sports or art forms, without losing out on time.
It could also help me to see how the world progresses and what to expect from the future, but I have read enough novels, and watched enough movies to know never to interfere!
