Flinders University (Flinders) and Executive Counselling & Training Academy (ECTA) are delighted to announce our exclusive partnership programs.

This partnership will allow students to enrol in a Flinders Counselling program in Singapore, delivered by Flinders and ECTA in partnership.

Both Flinders and ECTA are passionate about offering counselling programs to fulfilling the learning needs of future professional counsellors. This course is suited to new allied health graduates and health professionals who are committed to ongoing professional development and personal growth using accountable evidence-based treatments and practice principles.

Master of Counselling

Flinders, in partnership with ECTA, offers the Graduate Certificate in Counselling and the Graduate Diploma in Counselling as a pathway to the Master of Counselling. The three programs constitute an accredited nested suite of courses with different exit points.

The Master of Counselling refines skills in professional counselling. The course is designed to advance counselling and research skills of people currently employed or interested in employment in one of the human services sectors (i.e., education, mental health, health, community, justice, and welfare sectors).

Graduates of the program would be eligible to register as professional counsellors in Singapore.

The course is available part-time or full-time formats.

Upon successful completion you will gain 6 months credit toward the Graduate Diploma in Counselling.

The course has been specifically developed in collaboration with industry partners to build workforce capacity for people who work in organizations or work with people who have experienced trauma. The course is designed to advance student understanding about contemporary research in relation to trauma, impact of trauma and modalities of interventions

The Graduate Certificate in Health Administration aims to provide students who are working in health and aged care, whatever their professional background, with the opportunity to acquire deeper knowledge and enhanced skills in health management.

The course builds on the students' current workplace experience and promotes the application of management theories to existing problems. This strong industry focus is aimed at delivering direct benefits to students through knowledge and to workplaces through its application.

The course introduces students to some core competencies, successful completion of which will better equip them to carry out management tasks and allow them to proceed to further graduate level coursework.

Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision

This course provides high quality multidisciplinary training in clinical supervision for professionals working in the mental health area. Students will receive training in specialised skills in supervision across a range of professional disciplines to meet the needs of suitably qualified or emerging professionals who are currently in a supervisory capacity or intend to become supervisors.

Professional Recognition and Accreditation

The Master of Counselling is accredited with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).

Current students can apply for ACA student membership, and upon graduation, students are eligible to apply for provisional membership. On completion of the post-qualifying supervisory practice requirements as set out by ACA, you can apply for full membership.

Current students can also apply for SAC student membership, and upon graduation, students are eligible to apply for Provisional Clinical membership. On completion of the post-qualifying supervisory practice requirements as set out by SAC, students can apply for full Clinical membership.
