Director
Ben is a veteran whose research focuses on the health and wellbeing of both veterans and serving personnel. He studies veteran self-harm and suicidality as well as institutional abuse in the ADF and DVA from a sociological and criminological perspective. Ben also studies the transition from the military to the civilian world, especially the creation of post-secondary career pathways for veterans to start their new lives. Ben advocates for early identification of veteran and family needs and the prevention of health and lifestyle issues before they become problematic. He approaches veteran and family wellbeing from a social health perspective.
