They need to be skilled communicators, as this role involves negotiating contracts, offering legal and financial advice, securing endorsements & sponsorship deals, and coordinating media appearances. Developing connections in the corporate sector and sporting community is key to success in this role.
2. Event Manager
A Sports Event Manager needs planning and project management expertise to provide immersive experiences for sporting participants and fans. They can work at all levels—from small community fundraisers to the major leagues and international competitions. This role requires diligence and the ability to thrive under pressure.
3. Sports Journalist
As a communications professional with knowledge of the sporting world, a Sports Journalist works across all media channels—newspaper, magazine, radio, television, or internet. They research, write and present sports information, attend press conferences, interview people in the sports industry, and network with industry professionals. They usually have a double degree in sports management and media communications.
