Ignite Your Future with JBC's Vienna Internship Program!
Introducing JBC's Vienna Internship Program – an exciting new opportunity in international space policy. In collaboration with European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), this transformative journey empowers students to contribute to Australian Defence, Counterspace Technologies, and National Security Threats from Space. This isn't just any internship; it's a chance to tackle real-world challenges and contribute to the future of space security.
The program's maiden voyage saw three dynamic students setting sail to Vienna on the 11th of January, 2024 to commence a 6-week internship. The students will experience exclusive access to the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs in Vienna and witnessed UN meetings on space policy, learning from global leaders in the field.
The project aims to identify major threats to space infrastructure critical for Australian defence and economic activities, developing robust and realistic space security scenarios applicable in an Australian regional context. These students contribute a multidisciplinary approach, with diverse backgrounds spanning Law & Criminology to International Relations & Political Science.
The interns are immersing themselves not only in their designated project but also in the vibrant tapestry of Vienna's rich cultural and intellectual scene. From the corridors of ESPI to the hallowed halls of the UN, every day is an adventure in learning.
At the program's core is a commitment to building capacity in South Australia's space sector. The Jeff Bleich Centre shapes the next generation of leaders through comprehensive training in space policy and governance, fostering innovation on the global stage.
As the inaugural cohort nears the end, possibilities are limitless. Will they be catalysts for future breakthroughs in space policy? One thing is certain – the JBC's Vienna Internship Program is more than just an internship; it's an invitation to dream, discover, and define the future of space policy.
We offer appointments with our prospective student team to discuss career options, pathways, and course and entry requirements.
