Be Fearless. Explore everything Flinders has to offer online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Every year, Flinders University throws open the doors for our sensational Open Days, a chance for anyone interested in attending university to find out more about Flinders and the steps to university life.
But we understand that not everyone can explore our campus in person. Work, family or life in general can make it difficult. That’s where Open Days 365 steps in and steps up. Access all the information you need, online and in your own time.
But just like our on-campus experience, we want to make sure you have an awesome Open Days 365 experience, which is why we have some killer tips to help you tick all the boxes.
We've got our top tips for you to make the most of Flinders Open Day 365.
With a lot of web-based experiences, external distractions can get in the way. The email that just hit your inbox, that unexpected Zoom call or knock on the front door. And did you put the bins out?
Treat Open Days 365 like an appointment. This is your future we’re talking about, right? You’re worth it. Block out your calendar, tell everyone you’re busy, turn off your email and your LinkedIn notifications. Shut down your Insta, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Teams, Messenger… yes, even your TikTok feed. You get the Idea.
Our on-campus Open Days are physically distanced from your work or home, which makes it easier to stay focused. But when you’re in your own environment, there’s a lot going on that might disturb your concentration.
This is your opportunity to gain valuable information that could help shape your future, so try to set yourself up in a quiet area where you can pay full attention to your Open Days 365 experience.
And step away from your TikTok.
During Open Days, many people come to campus in groups - with family or friends. Why not do the same with Flinders Open Days 365?
It might seem odd to explore Open Days 365 with a friend, colleague or partner, but pairing up means you’re less likely to miss things because your partner will have your back. You can watch videos or presentations together, explore the campus virtually, compare notes, stay motivated and have more fun.
Pairing up also means you’ll be able to better discuss your future study and how it will fit in with your lifestyle, with someone who also understands what Flinders can offer.
Just like our on-campus event, Open Days 365 is your chance to explore everything Flinders has to offer and absorb as much information as possible, which is so much easier with a friend.tly, there’s too much to choose from, but here are three things we know you’ll love:
One of the big temptations with any online experience is to quickly skim through or take shortcuts. To go heavy on overview and light on detail. Keep in mind though, Open Days 365 is all about you. Your career path. Your future.
So, make sure you give yourself the time you need to really explore Flinders. Check out our locations, our degrees and scholarships. See the available options to help you fit study around external work or other commitments. Find out how to enrol, or where to work out or grab a bite to eat.
Open Days 365 is designed to help you make important decisions about your uni future. Take the time you need. Grab a mocha choca latte, fire up your phone, make sure your tablet battery is charged or swipe your partner’s laptop and find out everything you need to know about Flinders. But don’t really take your partner’s laptop. Seriously. That won’t end well.
There.Are.No.Dumb.Questions. Open Days 365 is your opportunity to find out about Flinders, the degrees you’re interested in, how to enrol, flexible study options, whether ducks can juggle, what sort of support Flinders offers students, child care, parking, on-campus food outlets… you name it.
But don’t hang back if you have a burning question that hasn’t been answered. You can request a one-on-one appointment, book a campus tour or ask any questions you via phone on from 9-5 weekdays, or through askflinders@flinders.edu.au
And no, ducks can’t juggle. You’re welcome.
This is your time, so be Fearless.
We offer one-on-one appointments with our prospective student team to discuss career options, pathways, and course and entry requirements.
The VOID.
An incredible 360-degree virtual reality experience featuring the sort of motion capture you’ll see in major Hollywood blockbusters, and the sort of tech used in productions like The Mandolorian.
Virtual Stock Exchange.
Explore what it feels like to stand of the floor of a real stock exchange. You’ll be given 15 minutes to see if you can grow your investment. The player with the largest growth in value wins a prize. Yelling ‘buy, sell’ in a New York accent is optional.
The Anatomage Table.
No sharks – but you can virtually explore human anatomy through an interactive 3D anatomy visualisation and virtual dissection tool. The Anatomage Table is absolutely state-of-the-art.
