STEP INTO LIFE AT FLINDERS
Everything you’ll learn to love on campus
Do you remember stepping from primary school to high school? The change from a place you were so comfortable with, to a new environment filled with unfamiliar classroom and corridors, places and spaces?
You might think that stepping into uni life at Flinders will be the same. And in some ways, you’re right. But it’s a step into an amazing environment that we know you’ll learn to love.
Flinders campuses are huge, particularly Bedford Park. There are lots of lecture theatres and study spaces, labs, stairs, courtyards… you probably will get lost once or twice.
But don’t worry, you’re not alone, and everyone at Flinders, from students to staff, are always happy to help you find your way (you might also want to download the Lost on Campus app, a great help to find that missing lecture theatre).
Student life at Bedford Park is amazing. On a warm summer’s day you’ll find heaps of people relaxing in The Plaza, chilling out on the terrace at The Tav, lazing on the lawn by the lake, or catching up with friends for a quick bite at one of the many cafes.
We offer one-on-one appointments with our prospective student team to discuss career options, pathways, and course and entry requirements.
The location is just so beautiful! It’s impossible to be unhappy surrounded by such serene views. I love walking by the lake and watching the ducks, or just taking a break from studying to look out at the hills. The hub always has such friendly bustling energy too, it makes you proud to be part of it.

The Plaza often has something playing on the Superscreen, and there’s sometimes some odd stuff happening on the lawn, like our recent Dino Dance Off. Yep. Inflatable dinosaur dancing. And one of those dinosaurs is Dean of Graduate Research. You don’t have to stress about stuffy professors at Flinders.
If you want to do more than just enjoy the ducks, the lake, the occasional kangaroo or koala, the amazing scenery or the views that stretch from the city to the coast, you might want to check out one of Flinders’ many, many, many clubs.
There are around 120 active sporting and non-sporting clubs at Flinders, covering pretty much every interest you can imagine. What type of clubs?
Take a deep breath, and brace yourself…. there’s Aikido Club, Athletics Club, Cricket Club, Football Club, Lacrosse Club, Soccer Club, Ultimate Frisbee, Book Club, Motorsport Club, Photography Club, Sketch Club, Cinephile Society, Computer Society, League of Legends Club, Speleological Society…
Actually, just check out Flinders’ full list of sporting clubs and non-sporting clubs.
Stepping into life at Flinders is going to be incredible. Before you know it, you’ll know exactly where to find the best coffee or the best spot to watch the ducks. You’ll know exactly where to park your car or your bike, where everything is in the library, and when the best times are to hit the gym.
You might even start to wonder where to get a slice of that dino-dancing action.
