Take your qualifications in paramedicine to the next level with a 1-year (or equivalent part time) Bachelor of Paramedicine (Honours) degree. This course has been designed for paramedics to equip you to help answer discipline relevant questions related to health care delivery, education and workforce sustainability while making a positive difference to the world. It is intended to build upon your existing knowledge and skills to advance your understanding in research principles and methods through structured learning, leading to the planning and completion of a scholarly research project, under supervision from experienced research mentors.

Why undertake an Honours year in Paramedicine at Flinders?

In this 36-unit course, you will study four coursework topics, where you will further develop vital health research skills such as:
You will also undertake an advanced independent scholarly research project, under the supervision of expert researchers and industry advisors, relevant to the discipline of paramedicine. The project will be submitted in the form of a research report manuscript, ready for submission to a target journal.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Paramedicine* (or equivalent qualification). Applicants with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.0 in their previous tertiary studies are invited to apply. Exceptions to the GPA may be made after discussion with the Course Coordinator.

If you have never studied at or made an application to Flinders University, you can register and submit your application for admission to a 1-year Honours course using the eApplication portal. You will receive two emails once your application is completed: confirmation of application submission; and a second email with your student ID. Note, it may take 1-4 hours for your student ID to be created.
If you have studied at Flinders University within the last 12 months you can submit your application for admission to a one-year Honours course via the Student System. You can apply for admission by selecting the My Applications tab at the top of the page, and searching for your course.
If you studied at Flinders University more than 12 months ago you will need to reactivate your FAN first. With an active FAN you will then be able to submit your application for admission via the Student System as advised above.
